Having received precision training with Salvador Dali’s tailor – Fred Arntz , and with an Honours Degree in Fashion Design from the creative National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland, Shelley Voom has worked for some of the top names in Fashion, Illustration and Costume.
Recently relocating to New York, Irish born Miss Voom has worked for a myriad of designers from Nova Dando – La Roux’ , MGMT’s and the Klaxons stylist to London’s rock and roll duo -design label Felder Felder- where she worked on couture pieces for Rhianna and The Kills lead singer – Alison Mosshart.
Shelley has also designed and created pieces for theatre, television, performance shows and film, from Riverdance to the prestigious Abbey Theatre in Dublin to the BBC’s hit show The Tudours and most recently the avant garde film, The Secret of Permanency.
Furthermore she has been shortlisted for many awards from Nokia Young Designer of the year 2010 to Tell Her Design Awards 2008 and winning two prestigious awards at the esteemed Future Makers 2011, judged by the Craft Council of Ireland.
Shelley has worked as Head Designer to the Creative Director with boutique label Caroline Kilkenny , whose clothes were frequently worn by Dr. Mary Mc Aleese during her Presidency of Ireland. She has also worked with Avoca Handweavers and currently designs freelance for many top Irish companies most notably the leading Irish designer Liz Quin.
